Mane Addicts, founded by celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin, is the leading online destination for the digital hair community. Launched with the aim to build a fluid, diverse, and global hair community, Mane Addicts has become an internationally renowned platform that lends its voice to hairstylists, beauty experts, and enthusiasts who push the boundaries of the industry.
To keep up with the continued growth of their community, Mane Addicts wanted to modernize their online editorial experience. A key part of this was introducing shopping directly within their content. With significant commerce plans for the future, continuing with WordPress wasn’t a viable option – enter Shopify Plus and Sanity.

Replatforming to Shopify Plus and Sanity
We migrated over 4,000 articles from WordPress and built a fresh new site powered by Shopify and headless CMS, Sanity. The new site's architecture is designed to give the Mane Addicts team ultimate flexibility: Sanity powers blog content and structure, while Shopify handles all things commerce. Sanity Connect is the glue that keeps things together, automatically syncing products between the two systems. The result means Mane Addicts can now create highly custom blog posts interspersed with shoppable content—all from within the Sanity editor.

By seamlessly integrating commerce into their editorial content, we provided readers with the ability to purchase featured products directly within articles. This approach not only enhances user experience but also increases conversion rates by reducing the steps needed to make a purchase.
